Mission and Vision

Juntos is a community-led, Latine, immigrant organization in South Philadelphia fighting for our human rights as workers, parents, youth, and immigrants. We believe that every human being has the right to a quality education and the freedom to live with dignity regardless of immigration status.

Juntos combines leadership development, community organizing, and focused collaborations with other community-based and advocacy organizations to build the power of our community members so they may be active agents of change and work against their own oppression.

Our Values

Our guiding value is Prohumanity. This means that we welcome and accept people for their whole beings. We believe that everyone deserves respect and to be in spaces where we are free of the stereotypes and stigmas that society has imposed on us.

  • One cannot decide that some rights are more important than others.

  • Humans > Systems.

  • No human is disposable.

We defend immigrant people not because they and their labor are “good for the economy” but because they - we - are human beings. People above systems, always.

This concept and definition were developed by one of our youth members - now a staff member - who has been with the organization since she was 15.
